Lovely weekend
The Hotel was great, fabulous location, if a little difficult to find from the north. The staff, in general were friendly & efficient, the hotel was however, short staffed which meant some delays, but we weren't in a hurry. Checking in could have been smoother, they tried to put three adults in one room, and on checking out, the system didn't recognise our deal so we had to go through the bill for the extras we had purchased in front of a queue of people, also all keen to check out. The staff member was very helpful on this one despite the rising stress levels. To be able to use a 17m pool was a bonus and the garden room lovely, just a pity we never got to sit outside due to the rain.
Gorgeous hotel and perfect location
We booked a deal and for 249 we got a room with a welcome bottle of bubbl, dinner, bed and breakfast & use of the spa facilities- very good value. On arrival we were greeted warmly and the helpful reception staff took the bags from the car to the room. After settling in our cosy top floor room
(there is a lift) there was a minor hiccup when the lighting tripped but after a phone call to reception and sorted in 5 minutes. We enjoyed a drink in the sunny beer garden which overlooks the lake.
We had already booked tea for 6.30pm and the enjoyed the food off the menu although beware of the supplement charges( 8.50pp for the lamb) State at receptionist if you donor want to have to pay service charges on your bill. We used the lovely pool and steam room that were spotlessly clean and at 8.30am Sunday we had it to ourselves. Overall we loved our decadent stay here and would definitely go back - before our trip I read reviews about unhelpful staff but we didn t find this.
The Lakes aquarium and steam railway is a 2 minute walk and the lake boat tours stop here too so
as well as admiring the lake & country views there is plenty to do nearby.

Lovely hotel in fabulous setting with friendly and helpful staff. Very expensive and attempts to charge all sorts of extra service charges despite having paid in advance of visit. Might suggest that a biscuit served with coffee in the lounge would not bankrupt the hotel.

Location & Local Attractions
The Lake District is one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, surrounded by breath taking scenery, scenic walks to suit all abilities, and a breadth of wonderful visitor attractions right on the doorstep.
A lake cruise is a must, and you can get to many of the neighbouring towns by boat too.
The famous village of Cartmel is just 10 miles away from Lakeside and is home to a wide variety of traditional Lakeland inns, tea rooms and cutting edge gourmet restaurants, including the internationally acclaimed Michelin Star restaurant, L'Enclume. No visit to the Lakes would be complete without learning more about Beatrix Potter, and The World of Beatrix Potter is located in Bowness itself.
There are a number of walks that can be enjoyed from the hotel, from a leisurely stroll around the lake or Great Knott Wood, to a more ambitious hike. The hotel are happy to recommend routes nearby.
