Lovely setting, interesting Hotel, excellent staff and food

Susan, Devon, stayed: December 2021

We had a lovely relaxing couple of nights at Orestone, it is an interesting place. The staff were very good and pleasant nothing was too much trouble. Food delicious, there were a few vegetables that could have been cooked better. A lift would have been good too. Considering how much the two night stay cost we feel the room should have been better. It was virtually an attic room. Sloping ceilings not ideal for older people. Drinks quite expensive too.

DM, Warwickshire, stayed: May 2022

We were greeted at reception with the news that the pre dinner free drinks was a mistake and should not have been part of the package clearly set out in the terms offerdbedrooms and bathroom did not match the reception areas of the hotel

Orestone Manor says...

We are sorry there was some misunderstanding at the start of your stay. The package included a drink on the first night but you saw that as each night. The wording of it was not clear perhaps. We did however serve you with a free drink each night as you had interpreted. The room you stayed at was room 8 which is a lovely room albeit one of our standard rooms with sea views. Pictures of the room are available to see on our website along with all the others.
Upon checkout the receptionist Karen was told what a lovely stay you had.

Anon, stayed: July 2019

Poor initial impression given by untidy car park, two beached boats and a pile of builders rubble. Needs major up-grade in decoration, furnishings and carpets. Very narrow staircases to upper rooms.
The eaves in Room 8 limit movement for tall people.

Orestone Manor says...

We welcome feedback, however I am rather perplexed, Yes we do have two boats parked at the bottom of the car park. But no pile of rubble as you describe but some stacked Slabs waiting to be layed when we are not busy. one of the terrace areas has been finished The slabs cannot be seen by normal parking and I don't see how any of the above could impact on a stay being non of it can be seen from any public area in or out or main building rooms
I can only assume you have written 2 reviews and got them in a muddle This Hotel has been refurbished including new bathrooms decoration and all hallways and carpets within the last 3 years (hallways 2 years) in fact room 8 where you stayed has new bathroom, Windows and decor and the carpet fitted just 3 months ago. I have the bills and the loans! to show for it all. The building you first see entering the car park is a new build not yet 3 years old.
All our rooms are pictured honestly on our website beams and all for people to make an informed choice.
It is a pity you have not mentioned the last thing you told our receptionist on departure that the Food had been excellent
