My friend and I recently very much enjoyed a week's stay at the Orestone Manor Hotel. From the welcome on arrival to the homely, relaxing and charming experience throughout the week, it was faultless and 1st class. The fine dining was really exceptional and the cleanliness and extra "touches" were much appreciated. All the staff went the extra mile to ensure our stay was just perfect. Thank you all so much!
A relaxing break.
We enjoyed our 4 day break at Orestone. The room was excellent the staff were very welcoming and very attentive. The food was superb. The only thing we could fault, was the access from the main road onto the lane on which he hotel is situated. It is a very acute turn and we found this difficult to manoeuvre.
A Special Anniversary Made Very Special
My wife and I knew from previous reviews and other research that we should enjoy our weekend stay at The Orestone Manor hotel and we were not disappointed.
The hotel is in a lovely spot with views through the trees to the sea from the gardens and many of the rooms. It's just a short walk from the South West Coast Path and the delightfully secluded Maidencombe beach where we sat for a while letting the gentle sounds of the sea wash over us. Do be aware though that the climb back up the hill is hard work.
We stayed in Room 2, The Horsely Suite, which besides being very spacious was tastefully decorated and romantically furnished including a delightful brass four poster.
When it came to eating in the restaurant every meal exceeded our expectations. The quality and range of food on offer for breakfast amazed us and the cooked breakfasts were freshly cooked and served piping hot. The eggs Benedict was particularly good!
The decor and the views to the sea create a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff couldn't be more helpful and attentive. The scallops were enormous, perfectly cooked and deliciously served. The main courses that we enjoyed included the most succulent duck breast I've ever eaten and a fillet of sole dish that was imaginative and memorable for its exciting range of textures and delicious flavours.
Suffice to say that the puddings did not disappoint either; being both visually irresistible and delicious to eat.
Our thanks to all the staff for making our anniversary weekend one to treasure. We won't hesitate to recommend The Orestone Manor to our friends
