Almost perfect

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this family operated hotel.
The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly and the chef patron produced high end meals.
The lounges, bar and dining rooms were stylish and well furnished.
The reason for the almost perfect was our bedroom described as a superior room was small and somewhat faded.
However, overall an extremely enjoyable stay.

The hotel was hidden away but once we found it, we were pleasantly surprised. The setting was very nice and it was nice sitting on the patio with an afternoon drink looking over the gardens.
Our room was pleasant and the added bonus was we had a large outside area to sit on in the evening sun. The one complaint about our room was that there is a small slope in the room, which if we are honest was off putting, and we wouldn't like to be in that room again. I think some work needs to be done to sort it out.
The best part of our stay was the restaurant. Breakfast was plenty and definitely set you up for the day.
The evening meal had a good choice and whatever we had was awesome. The taste and flavours were so good and we can't give it enough compliments.
If we could offer one suggestion, because the breakfast and evening meals are served in same room, we both thought that the room in the evening could have been dressed up a little. A simple white table cloth would have made it a bit more restaurant like. Perhaps a tiny vase with a one stem flower. I think if I was just going there for a meal I would have been unimpressed by the setting.
This takes nothing away from the food, which we say again was outstanding.
