Garden of Eden!

Anniversary Stay
Only a one night stay in the very pleasant Horsley Suite to celebrate our anniversary. Had a free upgrade which I thought was really good. Friendly but not over the top welcome. Bed very comfortable, nice curtains, lamps and general decor. Good sea view which is what I wanted. TV not very straightforward but had help with that. Asked for soya milk in room which unfortunately was sour, but was offered an alternative.
Thought the lounge was most relaxing and with very pleasing decor and artefacts. Website pictures do not do it justice. Friendly restaurant staff without being too chatty. Food good. Breakfast lovely. Wished we could have stayed longer. Have recommended the hotel to a colleague who has booked a 3 night stay!
What rating can you give above excellent?
My wife and I stayed for a weekend break (it was part of my 50th Birthday present from her). I'm so pleased that I was sent an e-mail prompt to rate my stay as I might not have got around to it otherwise.
We absolutely loved the place! The staff could not have done any more to be welcoming and attentive - they made everything so personal. The food in the restaurant was superb - Michelin ought to give them a visit with a star in their pocket.
We got upgraded and stayed in a suite, which was straight from an Agatha Christie novel. I felt like I was part of the gentry for a couple of days! We spent the weekend going for cliff and country walks which the hotel is superbly located for. If you want a busy city hotel you need to go somewhere else. If you want relaxing luxury, great service, delicious food and a bit of fresh air come here. As I said, we absolutely loved it.
( I have just reread what I have said - no I don't work for does sound a bit 'suck up' but it is a true review).
