5 night birthday stay
Stayed for 5 nights here in October in a superior room. Staff friendly courteous and helpful. Lovely hotel. Interesting and historical building. Room was very spacious with lovely bathroom and we were able to see the sea in the distance between the trees from the room window. Excellent parking on site and tucked away from main road. Steep downhill walk to beautiful rocky beach and cute takeaway cafe. Walked on the coastal path a few times only a few mins walk from hotel. I am coeliac so allergic to gluten and I was catered for fantastically well which is definitely not always the case. So wonderful to be able to eat delicious and beautifully presented food feeling assured you will not be Unwell afterwards. I cannot praise the chef or waiting staff enough for their skill and expertise. I would highly recommend a stay here . Wonderful!!
Wedding Anniversary
Stayed for one night to celebrate our anniversary. Our bedroom and bathroom was clean and lovely with the exception of the mattress topper being the wrong way up, it was like sleeping on an egg tray.
My husband had the venison and I had the fish both dishes were quite bland.
A relaxing stay and enjoyable break.
We very much enjoyed our three day stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was good and the family run hotel was welcoming and comfortable. On a very cold weekend the staff had ensured that the room was very warm on our arrival. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, but I have not given it 5 stars as the menu was very limited with very little change over three days. If we had stayed for four days we would be repeating the same meal and if vegetarian would have had the same meal every night. The walk down to and from the beach was described as invigorating and that for a 'pair of oldies' was an understatement. The climb back was difficult for anyone with arthritic knees. It was however lovely when we got there. I advise you not to use your satnav to find the hotel.
