Good room, poor restaurant
Paid for the dinner bed and breakfast deal only to be told on check in that the latest time for dining was 6pm despite previously booking a table for 8pm. Upon arriving for dinner we were then given only three choices of starter and main choice, and no vegetarian option. The desert option was also ice cream only. The hotel is in a nice location and our room was clean, spacious, well appointed with a nice view of the lake. They obviously had a problem in staffing the kitchen/restaurant, it s a shame that they didn t just close it and offer a refund rather than offer a poor service that tainted our experience and has made us reluctant to visit again.
Terrible Food
Lovely hotel, great friendly staff, evening meal was terrible.
Rather disappointing
Our reception was the coolest I have ever experienced. No word of welcome, no smile, just handed over the key. Thereafter, staff were willing and friendly but showed lack of training in the restaurant. Food was lacklustre. The very plain rooms were reminiscent of Premier Inn but rather basic for the price. Cleaning was only just adequate, with carpets left fluffy, and corridors not vacuumed in two days.
Overall, we found the hotel convenient but would not rush back to it.
