The good and not so good.
Upon arrival internet not working in the room. Reported to reception and they demonstrated to us that it worked there. 24 hours later ,after numerous reminders, maintenance fitted new box and all was well in the room.
Both evening meals were excellent and lived upto our and the hotels claims. However ,breakfasts were poor for a hotel of this standing. Cooked breakfast had been warmed up, kippers were not local and minute and coffee was instant.The coffee you bought after the evening meal was great but not at breakfast., altogether different.
Staff were always helpful and made it a pleasant stay but not an exception one.

Regarding your technical issues with your internet, I would like to apologise and state that usually we pride ourselves with our services for our guest, however on this occasion our speed to rectify could have clearly been faster so again I am very sorry.
It is lovely to hear that you enjoyed you evening meal with us and rest assured I will feedback to out Chef and his Team.
I am saddened to hear you did not enjoy your Kippers as they are usually raved about from our guests.
I can assure you that they are local to Whitby being sourced directly from Fortunes Smokehouse at 22 Henriette Street Whitby. What our Chef then does is to divide the fillets and remove the head and tail so that the dining experience is more presentable for our guests.
Again the general feedback from our guests on our locally sourced products including our coffee that is produced by Baytown coffee Stainsacre, Whitby although with the Bar Coffee it is produced through percolation in a coffee machine.
Your comments regarding the size of the breakfast has been past back to our Food Director and Head Chef however I believe it is all about avoiding waste and our guests can always request extra items be that sausages, eggs and Kippers if they wish.
Our staff team will be delighted to read your comments on their service standard and we thank you again for your kind words.

Great place for a lovely weekend
Just the place for a relaxing weekend away, location is great, staff are fantastic, top marks all around.
Excellent food and very relaxing stay
Wanted to come here for ages then spotted the really good deal on your website. Didn't disappoint- room was lovely if a bit warm overnight. Staff really friendly and hospitable- no problem to use the spa whilst room was prepared as we arrived early. Massages great, pool warm but it was the fabulous food and drinks that really impressed.
