A wonderful stay!
Our visit was excellent from beginning to end. The staff were most welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The view of the garden from our balcony was delightful during the day but also at night as the garden is lit!
Coastal estate hotel for an upscale family weekend
Raithwaite Estate comprises two separate hotel buildings and some cottages which are all separately bookable. It is located on a hill very close to the sea near Whitby in Yorkshire. We went there as a family group of 10 for a bank holiday weekend break. We stayed in the Keep, which is the smaller of the two main hotel buildings and is more family friendly. There is a spa and a fine dining restaurant which has a semi-private room adjoining which we used for dinner. (These are in the main house).
We were very pleased all round. The staff were exceptionally helpful, the rooms are spacious, well-appointed and clean and modern. The children loved the pool (which has two hours a day for family swimming). The setting is lovely - a short walk to the beach and 10 minutes from Whitby in a cab.
Therefore all in all, an excellent choice which we can strongly recommend.
