Our room was noisy at night which disturbed sleep - reported to reception on departure. The service in the dining room was poor. Breakfast buffet table was very poor. Dinner menu was limited with dishes 'selling out'. I object to the 'discretionary' service charge and would not pay it in future. Lax Covid precautions - particularly at breakfast. Reception, bar and concierge staff were appropriate. It is such a missed opportunity as the location is excellent.
The overall rating reflects the poor dining experiences.

Lovely building and location. For a top level room strangely no air- conditioning or safe. The breakfast on each morning was awful - poor choice of cereals, (uncovered), poor choice of fruit, only sliced bread for toast (no other bread choices), croissants and pastries on partly covered trays with flies crawling inside (staff admitted they have flies and could do nothing!) The Yorkshire cooked breakfast comes prepared from the kitchen - well cooked but massively oversized and therefore wasteful. Very slow service - blamed on short staffing for which we have some sympathy.

Dogs galore

GT, Lincolnshire, stayed: May 2022

My heart plummeted when the hotel told me that our party of nine were housed in the annex. However, it was lovely. The lounge far better and much larger than the one in the main house. The rooms for six of us were fine with outside terraces. The room for three was not so good. Their balcony hit a brick wall and they had to stand up when on it to see view.
My only complaint would be the amount of dogs in the restaurant. The conservatory was full of dogs. I do not want to eat food where dogs are prevalent. I do realise hotels have to cater for dog owners in this day and age. When they wanted us to eat there I refused and we were seated in the proper restaurant WITHOUT dogs..
The small lounge was never available for nine of us - far too small. The annexe is the place for large family groups - it is light and airy and the concierge will provide drinks after dinner. The were excellent and so friendly.
