Relaxing and enjoyable
Lovely staff though the Brasserie is a maybe a bit cold and lacking in atmosphere in the evening. We were disappointed that the pool area was full which meant we couldn t enjoy the leisure facilities whilst we were there but we had picked the children s pool time so not surprising I guess. The room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed. It is a bit of a trek into Whitby and a long walk back in the pitch black but a lovely walk along the beach in the day and was close to The Cleveland Way if you like walking.
Nice hotel but room for improvment
Our room was clean but balcony area hadn't been cleaned from last guests. There were fish and chip shop wrappers, an empty bottle of wine and fag ends still on the balcony area. Also a cushion for one of the chairs had been left out as well and it was stained so should have been changed or cleaned for new guest. Restaurant was nice food and well priced but drinks a little expensive. The spa was ok. I had a massage but it wasn't the best I've had but not the worst either I would rate it as average. Overall I would score it a 4 out of 5
Enjoyable friends weekend away.
Really enjoy our stay at the hotel. Staff were brilliant and very friendly. Rooms needed a bit more wow factor and bathrooms were in need of upgrades. Underfloor heating not fully working correctly. Understand that significant investment is to be made to Raithwaite so will look forward to staying there at some stage in the future.
