Re-opening visit.
We retuned to the Montagu Arms the week after it had re-opened. We were welcomed into the new Covid regime by the old members of staff, albeit hidden behind masks.
The food was excellent although different to usual. We felt very valued and safe during our stay.
Lovely hotel, but didn't match up to my expectations based on the website
The location was good, the staff were very helpful, and the food was lovely, however I didn't feel like I received the value I had paid for my stay.
The food was very nice but very small portions, and sides (or any drinks) were not included in the 'two courses' deal!
The room, although described as 'superior' was very small and faced onto the road. The bed was comfortable, but the room had no air con, and due to it being warm during our stay we had to keep the windows open all night so it was quite noisy.
We had access to a spa but on a different site which we'd have had to drive to, so we didn't use this.
If only they had all our rooms
We paid for 4 superior rooms but only got 3 as one was not up to standard with ripped bedings and curtains, they moved one of our
Couple's to a lower class room but did not meet the same standard as the other 3 a very big pity did spoiled the trip a bit as this was a birthday night away for 8 of us and 6 birthdays to celebrate.
The hotel was very nice with beautiful surroundings. We all had a meal in the restaurant that night ok but would not give it a four star rating.
