Old Swann Harrogate
On entering the car park you have to go find a place to park and what they don t tell you it is ten pounds per day to park, it is a very large hotel and only one small lift three people with luggage would be a problem watch out for service charge on any payment in the bar or restaurant we had a service charge just for being served at the bar, back to the car park ten pounds per day the hotel tries to say it is Harrogate council but the hotel is on private land not owned by the council just another money making trick but after that quite a nice stay would I go back maybe.

Breakfasts were excellent and the hotel was as expected, although room furnishings a bit well worn. We paid for our stay in advance and paid for extras at the restaurant immediately after the meal (we were asked to pay this on leaving the restaurant which was fine).
Despite this we were presented with a bill for various "service" charges. Our friends who paid for the exact same deal were not presented with a bill. I refused to pay this bill but this incident would make me unwilling to go back to this hotel and wonder about using the hotel chain.
Stay if you get a deal
We spotted this as a 2 night deal with breakfast both mornings and dinner on the first night, it also included a bottle of cava in the room to enjoy upon arrival. Breakfasts are really good nice selection from the buffet and some to order items too if you prefer. Dinner was a little disappointing not really what I was hoping for Luke warm and of pretty poor quality. Don t get me wrong it was ok and edible but not really what I had expected given the grandeur all be it somewhat faded in 21st century or the hotel and dining space. Our Cava was also substituted for Prosecco upon arrival. Overall promises somewhat more that it delivers but still an enjoyable stay located conveniently for the city centre and I would stay again In the full knowledge of its shortcomings at the right price.
