A very pleasant short break
We were delighted to find the hotel's location so close to the Harrogate centre, yet in a quiet area away from crowded streets. The sparkling wine available to welcome us was a pleasing touch and the food excellent; in particular the breakfast menu choices which were the most generous and diverse we have ever encountered anywhere else. The reason for giving excellent scores for everything except the room, was while the room itself was beautifully decorated and furnished, the washbasin in the bathroom was badly cracked and the tap so large it was quite difficult to fill the kettle easily when brewing in-room drinks!
Helpful and pleasant staff
Although an old hotel with squeaky floors this hotel was very good. Staff were excellent even enduring there was wood on the open fires!
Evening meal was flavoursome although portions were not large.
Breakfast was excellent and included dishes such as kippers and Eggs Benedict.
Again staff were excellent even enduring.
The executive room was large and although the shower was over the Bath there were rails to hold onto and a non slip bath mat!
A great second visit
We were looking forward to our stay at the Old Swan Hotel as we have stayed here before, and it did not disappoint. All the staff were friendly and helpful. All our requests were met quickly. The evening meal was delicious. The breakfast selection was wide and plentiful. The location could not be better. We booked via an offer in a newspaper which included a bottle of Prosecco - which was very welcome!
