A bit of luxury.
This is the third time I have used this hotel and since I have used OPL the standard has risen dramatically for a start you are in the main house rooms are big and luxurious and you get 60 towards the evening meal. The main house is
Very stately and dates back to big estates of yesterday with rooms that are wooden panelled and give you the impression they have been around for ages.I intend to use this hotel in the future.

Almost spot on
We were VERY impressed with our breakfasts and the meal the 1st night was absolutely superb ... I can thoroughly recommend the pork - it was HUGE! The staff were very helpful throughout, particularly at breakfast time (one lady Shebeeza? - apologies for spelling - the other lady, too, was very keen to get things just right; the three young ladies at dinner, both nights, were great too.
Our main negatives were: (i) the phone didn't work but Steve sorted it within minutes, along with the shower that wasn't at all obvious until he explained ... could do with some simple instructions, given the temperature control was missing; (ii) sadly, the price of a small bottle of lemonade to top up a Martini was VERY expensive - that sort of thing puts us off, I'm afraid; (iii) but the worst thing was that on our 2nd evening, we decided to have exactly the same food, but the plates were stone cold and the food was 'cool' - having had such a notably brilliant meal on evening 1, this was SUCH a disappointment. But, as you can see, overall, our stay was not far off excellent and we would definitely stay here again. A special thank you to all the staff, and 'lady of the match' was Shebeeza.
Apart from three things, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wood Norton.
Four nights at Wood Norton
This was our third stay at Wood Norton which was as enjoyable as the first two. We have stayed in both the main house and Pear Tree Mews
In addition to the above ratings we found the history of the hotel and its connection with the BBC very interesting.
The food was delicious, well cooked and presented but we found that the evening main course in some cases was so ample that we would have preferred a smaller portion.
We found the level of lighting in the room to be excellent.
Minor points regarding the room: more than four coat hangers would have been appreciated for a four night stay. We did like the fact that they were real.
We were concerned that water escaped from the shower onto the shower room floor.
Wood Norton is an excellent centre from which to explore the Cotswolds and we look forward to returning in the future.
