From the bottom of the garden the building is impressive.
Internally it is a warren of small rooms, dead ends, and needs a lot of tlc.
The bedroom was very small but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had inadequate shelving and the hot tap was difficult to turn off and the cold tap difficult to turn on.
The menu for dinner was the same each evening and was very restrictive. I do not expect to have two forms of beefburger on a dinner menu in a hotel.
Neither my wife nor I drink alcohol and the tonic water we had pre-dinner was the worst tonic water we had ever tasted
Very disappointed and not value for money.
'Gourmet menu' offered burgers and fish and chips, more suited to a pub menu. We had no hot water on one day of our visit. Dress code in restaurant was a bit lax for a luxury hotel.
So disappointed
After 3stays in the last four years, we decided to go back as we gave 5 star reviews last time. I have put my comments on trip advisor so please go there for my assessment.
