Ex BBC members return
6 of us (ex BBC) were very pleased to renew our ties with Wood Norton and found things generally OK.
We found the menu being repeated each night was restricting and on the second evening our order was taken and then some minutes later we were asked to order again!! The correct food arrived but when we came to settle the bill it was all wrong and each party of two had to go to the till and check in each item we had ordered. Not very professional. Small problems such as no toilet brush in our suite and a toilet seat in the public toilet that would not stay vertical were somewhat annoying.
Disappointed
Some rooms don't have opening windows and air conditioning is poor so not nice in hot weather. Afternoon tea is a scone and a coffee- disappointing. Evening meal allowance not good enough to order a 2 course meal. 10% service charge added to meal bill so not covered by evening allowance

Being such an old building, some of the windows are unable to open and air conditioning is not as efficient as in a more modern property; we are sorry that this lead to an uncomfortable stay for you.
Your offer included a complimentary cream tea for two during your stay, which consists of scones with jam and cream and tea or coffee - an afternoon tea also includes sandwiches and cakes.
With the introduction of the hotel's new menu we have increased the dining allowance; thank you for bringing this to our attention. The service charge is optional and can always be removed should you so choose.
We do hope that the majority of your stay was to your satisfaction.

could have been better
Well, when we drove up we thought have lovely, garden fab, room looked very nice, clean. As the afternoon went on we found the room quite cold, could not put the heating up anymore.
We had decided to eat in the restaurant the first evening, more so as we had 50 towards our meal in with our booking, we went down at 7.45 order at 8.00pm got our soup at 8.50 and that was when we ask where was our soup, not happy, then my husband had fish and chips which was 19.00, when it came look good but had a job to find the fish inside the batter. Batter was not crispy. When we said we were not going to pay for this as it was awful. the waiter came back and said the chef agreed. the gym was very cold, its not good for anyone to train in a very cold gym. And to cap it all when we can to pay what we thought we should have we had to pay more, because we were told that as we were not charged for one of the mains, we didnt get the whole 50 off our bill, not that should have stood as it was not our fault the food as rubbish, and not we will not go back.
