Could have been better

We were allocated a room which had been equipped for someone with impaired mobility with out informing us.This was not ideal,especially the bathroom layout and low level wash basin etc.
The restaurant seemed to be poorly organised and at times not adaquately staffed. The cooked breakfast portions were very small (ie half a mushroom!)
When checking out our bill contained some bar and restaurant charges that were not ours. This also happened to two other couples who were staying there at the same time. It took quite a while for them to sort this out, even though all the bar and retaurant chits had the correct nos on them.
All in all a very nice hotel with beautiful grounds,but hotel suffers from badly managed staff. Did not see much evidence of supervision and junior staff were left to cope alone.

Mixed bag.

Room and location met expectations.
Restaurant disappointing.Average breakfast. Dinner ....Only 3 of 4 starters available both nights and no substitute. Portions small and 3 of our 4 main courses had missing components . Very expensive for what you got and side dishes might be needed at cost. Not a Gourmet experience .
The older parts of the building where exceptional,but the bar was totally out of character ,cold and unwelcoming decor.
Reception area minute and far from impressive .
The staff in general were very good,
Lovely hotel,disappointing dining.

It's OK at Wood Norton

Took a while to find the entrance, and wasn't impressed by manoeuvering our luggage past just painted doors to the bedroom which was not the Twin we ordered! We waited in the proper room for it to be prepared as a Twin. Then OK
Dining Room very poorly lit, with guests taking their menus to a window so they could read them. Food OK.
