Fabulous find
Fabulous welcome from the receptionist who checked us in early as our room was ready . She then offered to get the open fire set for us so we could enjoy an afternoon tea infront a roaring fire . It did not disappoint . The food was fresh and you could tell the ingredients were high quality .
Our room was lovely it was very warm even when we turned the radiator off but with the window open it was fine . We did have a leak from our shower which soaked the carpet . We reported it to the reception staff and decided it didn t interfere with our stay and they were going to get it repaired when we left . The hot water was a plenty and the quality of toiletries .
The whole hotel is a very luxurious very clean modern and sympathetically decorated to the beautiful old building . The food was amazing very tasty with some lovely different things on the menu . All in all a lovey stay and can t wait to go again . The staff were always polite friendly and attentive the waitress even suggested a glass of port to go with our cheese board which really made the end of our meal . There are lots of little areas in the hotel to sit and relax with comfie sofas and chairs set out in all the areas . We met the lovey hotel car Bear in the bar that is written about in the hotel information we were given on arrival .
Our second visit, just as good as the first.
Excellent hotel in lovely grounds. The staff are all very good, the restaurant food was good, also an excellent breakfast choice.
One bonus over many hotels is they had a lift up to the other floors.
