Wood Norton Wows but .
Had a lovely stay at The Wood Norton, the room was very comfy with a beautiful view.
Breakfast was good, and served in a timely manner.
Dinner however left a lot to be desired.
The menu choice was very limited and the wait for our food on both evenings was interminable.
It was the longest wait we have ever experienced at a quality hotel, also the time waited between courses was unacceptable on both evenings and really spoilt our dining experience and therefore out a damper on the overall stay.
The staff in the restaurant and on reception were lovely and very helpful.
It is a shame that the restaurant experience lets the hotel down.
I would stay again but would need to know that service in the restaurant was more timely.
Lovely hotel for a weekend break
We had a lovely stay, rooms were lovely, even the cheapest ones! Excellent shower, huge beds and interesting photos on the wall! Link to the BBC meant we had Fawlty Towers.
The restaurant is very good, dinner and breakfast were delicious and the wine list is very good too. The grounds and views are stunning.
Some things could make it perfect. More staff available on the bar, guests were kept waiting a while at times, and also a full cocktail menu would be helpful. The bar staff could make quite a few different cocktails but there was no list at all, you had to ask. Also the entrance outside is not giving a great first impression, no where for smokers away from the main front door so cigarettes are put out on the floor and in plant pots with not very healthy plants! It could look beautiful but currently it s definitely not a feature.
Lovely hotel
Very welcoming, beautiful building, fabulous staff. Very well placed for surrounding area.
