Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds. Room ok but overlooks rubbish area so got woken up by dust cart and bar staff emptying beer bottles. Food good but lots of sweet corn in dishes and not detailed on menu. Restaurant and bar were clearly under staffed and some were obviously new and still learning. It wasn t the best experience but I did feel he staff were trying!!!
Could be better.
The hotel was in a good position and looked very attractive on arrival. Our room was very nice with a huge, very comfortable bed. The bathroom was excellent with good toiletries and big fluffy towels. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
The breakfasts were good with a wide choice. Sadly the dinners were not so good. The menu had only one small change for the four nights we ate there, the choice was limited especially if you wanted vegetarian or pescatarian meals, also the meals weren t always very hot. The food was expensive with vegetables, chips or potatoes at extra cost.
On two evenings weddings were taking place which meant we did not have access to the lounges. On the final night an event was taking place which meant we had to dine with a few other residents in a small, cold room with no atmosphere at all and long waits for service.
Not really a 4* experience
Arrived and no one knew where the receptionist was to book us in. Can't fault the room and evening meal, but hotel appears to be run by inexperienced young staff who would benefit from proper hospitality training. The quality of the breakfast was poor and certainly not 4*. Breakfast staff did not seem to know what they were doing. Again young and inexperienced.
