Lovely room but then I didn't have a standard one
Queen Room - bathroom was amazing with lovely products. Take all that modern stuff out - the full length mirror and modern wardrobe - you dont need it. I'm a veggie who travels a lot and get fed up beyond words with risotto and pasta. I ate in the formal restaurant and whilst there was no veggie main course chef made me a delicious meal - so thankyou for doing that. Grounds are lovely and I enjoyed sitting with a coffee in the fresh air at the end of a long day and drive to work. If I'm being picky the breakfast was only as good and varied as I get in the Best Western Premiers and could be something to improve on and the waiter did not wish to make me a Black Russian so asked I choose a cocktail from their standard list!!! To get me to grade excellent and not just good these two areas needed to be better. The waiter in the restaurant was attentive and helpful without being over bearing which was great considering for the first 30 mins I was the only dinner in the formal dinning room.
Short break
We found The Wood Norton a very nice place to stay with lovely grounds.

Lovely hotel, wish we could have been able to open the window in the room as a bit claustrophobic, ok when air con kicked in. Long wait for service in restaurant on second night. I had checked before booking no weddings were taking place as customer reviews has said service was poor. We were 2 hours in the restaurant on second night apparently something going on in the boardroom. Manager acknowledged our wait and gave us free drinks but I did not expect such a delay as no weddings taking place. Felt a bit let down by service for such a nice hotel. We were going to book for New Year gala dinner but not sure now?
