Not as expected.
External signage very poor. External routing signs have text too small. No notice on entrance door which looks rough and not an obvious way in.
Rooms OK . Water DANGEROUSLY hot,toilet seat loose. An allowance of 30 per person was made for the evening meal but this was nowhere enough as a tasteless portio of baked cod cost 29. Meal for 2 cost 82 for starter and main without drinks.this cost was outrageous when I consider the quality.
Breakfast good and very broad range of drinks and cereals..
I had been to Wood Norton on a couple of times when it was the BBC Engineering training establishment so chose to return for nostalgia and a Valentine day treat. My experience was not as I had hoped so did not stay for the second prepaid night.

Disappointed with the hotel
We ve stayed at several countryside hotels and had a great experience. Our stay at The Wood Norton was disappointing. There was a serious problem with flies in the room which were coming through the heating vents and just hung around. It wasn t possible to regulate the room heating despite adjusting the thermostat. The bar area had little ambiance.
