WOOD NORTON

Anon, stayed: November 2018

This hotel is very tired, gives new meaning to the term "shabby chic" and is in desperate need of a major face lift. The building ltself is quite imposing but there is nothing even remotely luxurious about this hotel and both the common parts of the hotel and the rooms need to be totally updated and modernized. The staff were generally very nice but not very well trained or professional; no one will get this hotel confused with a Four Seasons, Mandarin, RitzCarlton or any other luxury hotel.

Very underwhelmed and dissatisfied

Lisa, Worcestershire, stayed: June 2021

We booked this hotel on recommendation and after working the pandemic, where really looking forward to a night away. The hotel and grounds are stunning, and in a lovely location for a day in Broadway. Unfortunately the service we received for the star of hotel was poor. We are not people that complain but we left tired and disappointed. I would recommend the hotel thinks about how they allocate rooms as we were woken at 12.33 pm by others guests leaving the wedding venue drunk, then arguing and kicking over jam jars left to light the path. As a shift worker with young children a night away with uninterrupted sleep was something I was looking forward to. Then room service as a treat never turned up! we called the receptionist it was clear it was never ordered by the gentleman who also forgot our bar drinks the night before. Breakfast did arrive, however no milk, condiments or jam butter or toast. Small things but not what you expected after not getting room service in the first place. The whole experience was totally disappointing and not what I expected, and I would say that good service should come from management. Who I was told would email but nothing! I would of recommend this hotel if you like good service. The restaurant had no music no atmosphere, no check back on food which for 84 was poor and we feed this back to be looked at blankly. When the industry is struggling I would of thought you would be happy to welcome back customers.

The Wood Noughton

Stephen, Flintshire, stayed: August 2021

Nice hotel, lovely room with wood panels and cast iron bath but odd modern grey MDF wardrobe and chest of drawers totally out of character with the room and building setting
My reason for the low scores was the very slow inexperienced under staffed numbers of waiter staff for the booked evening meals. Waiting until
9.20 pm from a booked 8 pm time for main meals to arrive ,after our starters. Had to send steamed monkfish back twice as undercooked. In the end my wife just had the broccoli side. Paying 4star prices for the food with cafe like slow service. Side dishes not arriving at same time as meals. One morning no poached eggs on my so called full English. They were obviously overbooked and understaffed.
We won t be going back
