Service
Breakfast service on Saturday was extremely slow due to lack of staff.
No hot water Friday evening and saturday morning
Lovely building with great views
the building was beautiful/interesting with views across the Cotswold, the grounds have been built on with luxury homes and the car park is up a very steep hill,we were given directions to our room not shown only to find the lock faulty on the room, reported it no one showed to even try to fix it took 2 minutes on each attempt to get into the room The staff were polite not "friendly" polite and carried out their jobs The food was not up to the quality one would expect presented well but no flavour breakfast have seen and tasted better in cheaper hotels, as A one night visit to the hotel as a pass through i Would use it just to see the decor. If I was local no I would not eat here as a choice was not a relaxing hotel as a private wedding was on it felt like you were gate crashing something very private.
Wedding Anniversary
We visited The Wood for two nights for our wedding anniversary. On arrival it wasn t clear where the reception was
The receptionist was pre occupied with a male on arrival.
We up graded to afternoon tea, but felt the selection was poor compared to other hotel stays. Example cumber finger sandwich on its own & 4 mini broace rolls all with egg mayonnaise.
The biscuit which accompanied it was dry & had no taste.
Poor service in the morning for breakfast also the presentation was poor as well as the portions. We had a full English with scrambled egg, which was about a teaspoon.
