A good overnight spot
We were really happy with our stay. For us this was a convenient over night stop, but we really enjoyed the whole experience. Our booking included dinner, bed and breakfast and all were good. We both felt very relaxed in the lovely setting and will definitely stay here again.
Long awaited get together of friends
Lovely hotel and rooms friendly staff .
Vegan choice for dinner poor but that s not unusual
Wedding on the day we arrived but did not interfere with our stay .
Overall Impressions
Impressive building(s) with extensive oak panelling in main hotel.
Excellent food both breakfasts and dinners.
Most rooms are in an annex involving a short,steep(ish) walk (exposed to wind/rain if inclement) to main building.
Our annex room was reasonably spacious and pleasently decorated although bedside lights were rather dull, making reading difficult. An ironing board and iron were provided but no in room safe for valuables.
The ensuite facilities were excellent, spacious, nicely tiled and modernised and a full range of individual toileteries provided.
In my opinion the 2 night package (D/B/B) of 400 with credits of 30 per head per night against the dinner menu and an additional 20 per couple per night for wine/drinks, given the quality of the food and the overall ambiance of the hotel, was excellent value for money.
