Meeting up with friends who all live in different parts of the country
Beautiful
Hotel lovely staff stunning gardens lovely and clean !nothing was too much trouble whatever you asked the staff for , extensive menu for breakfast and even made things that weren t on the menu , also the scones in the afternoon are amazing , would definatly stay there again .
Beautiful setting
We had a weekend at the Wood Norton. They were very accommodating in our late arrival and booked us in for dinner that evening so we wouldn't go hungry. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The bar prices were very high and that ensured we went to local pubs instead. The house is stunning and spacious.
Sadly the lift bell kept sounding every time it was called which we could hear from our room and the housekeeping wasn't great as we had black mould on the shower tiles. The hallway light was on all night and the large gap under the door let the light flood in.
Lovely house in great location
We enjoyed a 2-night stay at Wood Norton.
The room was lovely, with all the facilities you would want. We also had a room overlooking the lawn which was lovely with a great view.
The restaurant was OK, but there was nothing special about it. Service was a bit random, and I find it frustrating when hotels expect you to give your room number when you arrive for breakfast, but do not have anyone at the desk when you do arrive. Some people just walked in and sat down rather than waiting.
I have to say that the metal frontage on the bar looked awful, and just not in keeping with the rest of the decor and/or building. It also made it look grubby.
Overall though, a good hotel and we had a good weekend.
