Overview

The dog-friendly The Barnsdale is a refined yet relaxed boutique hotel. A former hunting lodge, it is situated in the pretty village of Exton, on the north shore of Rutland Water on the Exton Park Estate. It is the perfect base for you and your best furry friend to discover Rutland's beautifully unspoilt and largely undiscovered countryside - a delightful destination for a pet-friendly holiday.
Dating back to 1760 the hotel is brimful of character and offers quirky British sensibility along with elegant luxury and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Guests will see the old blended with the new and the local with the worldly in this charming establishment where dogs are welcome throughout the hotel including the restaurants.
The 10 dog-friendly bedrooms are super stylish with rich, colourful interiors and you can dine with your dog at their Brasserie 1760, a relaxed contemporary dining room, as well as the Orangery which is suitable for lighter bites. The hotel offers wonderful walks on the doorstep, there are Stately homes to visit, a myriad of country pursuits as well as circular walks around Rutland Water.
For a more relaxing break, you can make the most of the on-site luxurious spa options, including an outdoor heated pool, a sauna pod, wood fire hot tubs, and serene treatment rooms.
