Overnight stay at the Bear at Rodborough Sunday 24 April
We have stayed at this hotel previously and returned because we liked it so much. The public rooms were comfortable and well presented, our bedroom was clean, tidy and well appointed. The best bit of our stay was the meal we ate in the restaurant in the evening. We are regular visitors to a 2 star Michelin restaurant near our home and the meal we were served at the Bear was just as good. The menu offered an excellent range and the food at all 3 courses was simply delicious. The presentation was beautiful and the flavour combinations were amazing. We cannot wait to return again.
Relaxing stay in great surroundings
A lovely relaxing 3 night stay, booked via OPL. Food was delightful, a great choice at breakfast and 3 course dinner each night in the restaurant. My partner would have liked the option of one of their hearty bar meals but this was not part of the offer. Well worth indulging in the generous "Full Bear" afternoon tea, yummy. All the staff we met were friendly and helped make our stay relaxed and enjoyable. There was a small wedding on the Friday and although I was a little anxious about how it would affect our stay i needn't have worried. We had an room upgrade in the annexe and the Hotel had enough rooms to accommodate wedding, hotel guests and locals. Fab location too you can leave the hotel and just wander across the commons, lots of pretty villages nearby and great scenery. Don't forget to visit bin ends, before you leave we bought a reasonably priced Prosecco and Rose both very enjoyable. The only small niggle we had was with the wifi which wasn't great.
48 hours at the Bear of Rodborough
We had a two night romantic break at the hotel which was really outstanding value for money. The room was perfect and beautifully appointed with champagne and chocolates awaiting us. The food and restaurant facilities were excellent and the cream teas included in the package absolutely delicious. The bar area was cosy with lovely staff and great ambience.
The surrounding countryside was absolutely stunning and lots of events and attractions were nearby to visit if we had been there longer.
The hotel also takes dogs by arrangement and has a winery right next door with a fabulous array of wines and local artwork for sale.
We would highly recommend this hostelry and will definitely return .
