WOW
Just WOW. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for a delayed wedding anniversary present. We had Dinner in the restaurant, breakfast in their too. We had a fantastic room service breakfast. Spa was excellent. Couldn't fault it at all.
Lovely Spa Break
The deal we got through countryhotelbreaks.com was amazing value, compared with booking direct. We booked a 3 night stay with breakfast & dinner in the Mayflower brasserie, with a voucher towards a spa treatment.
The reception staff & staff in the bar were excellent. However, restaurant staff were not. Lacking in any kind of warmth or knowledge about have to create a bill for inclusive quests meant that we were overcharged at the end of our stay. Staff didn't listen to our order on a couple of occasions and got our meals wrong. The reception staff were quick to rectify once we pointed it out but it was a little embarrassing and left our lovely stay with a little sour taste.
The food in the restaurant was ok. Limited options and no where near enough vegetables with the main or vegetarian options. The soup was different each day and was excellent. Dessert - we'd recommend the cheese. Breakfast was very good.
The bar had a lovely atmosphere and the staff here were excellent. I can recommend the Bordingham Hall Gin!
The spa was simply lovely and so were the ladies doing the treatments, we felt very relaxed.
Our room was comfortable and clean. Although we had opted for no housekeeping to comply with the Covid regulations during our stay, our room was still tidied and fresh towels given each day.
Anniversary overnight staycation
Lovely hotel, managed very well considering the circumstances.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very pleasant and professional.
The spa area was well run, the pool area was clean also the gym was well spaced.
Although we were there for only one night we felt very relaxed.
