Could be better

Peter, Somerset, stayed: January 2020

Lovely situation, wonderful old building with a fantastic new spa. The staff were friendly but could have been more efficient. We had a very good young waitress on our last evening but she had to ask the beverage staff four times before being able to give us one coffee.
The room was very nice and well appointed but the drainage was slow on the wash basin and we could not cool down the shower temperature. One curtain ring was broken.

Wonderful hotel and facilities but we felt neglected for food and drinks service

Anon, stayed: February 2020

On arrival we were very impressed by the hotel and fascinated by its history. Individual staff were friendly and welcoming however we felt rather neglected after approaching the bar for evening drinks which took near an hour to be served, the mayflower restaurant food was not so enjoyable and again we felt neglected by staff for service. Every other aspect of our stay was lovely- the room was very comfortable and nice to see refillable soaps and shampoo on offer which smelt amazing. The spa was excellent. We feel sorry to give a few negative remarks but consider it for the better we hope to return one day.
