Anon, stayed: November 2023

Slightly disappointed not to find a comfortable lounge to sit in and relax after a day of sightseeing in the local area, so had to return to our own room each day. This meant that we had little or no chance to meet other guests. I
Even in the Main Bar of the Hotel, there were no lounge facilities-just one or two people drinking and using their own computers - so there was little or no communication with any other guests, during our
3-day visit to Abington
Dining Room Staff were pleasant and helpful, but with no comfortable chairs and / or coffee tables we didn t feel that there was much of an ambience at The Crown and Thistle. We would not recommend this Hotel to any of our friends or family unfortunately.

Very Bad Room Very Unhappy

RB, Cheshire, stayed: October 2023

Bedroom was in the attic, up very steep and narrow stairs, very difficult to navigate. Room tiny, so small sink in bedroom and no storage space. Had to wade through luggage on floor Went home a day early. As we left we saw other bedrooms on lower floor which were lovely.
Felt we had been shoved in a bucklet list room. Will noy use your service again

We say...

Thank you for your review.

We are sorry to hear that the stay did not meet your expectations.

The room booked was a Double room which was allocated.  The hotel does have upgraded rooms as well, Executive room, Character suite and Family rooms, which might be the rooms you saw.

We would always recommend letting the hotel know if you are not happy with the room and they may have been able to allocate another one for you.

We have checked the other reviews and they are mostly very good, but thank you for your feedback, which we will now monitor.

Kind regards,

Off Peak Luxury

Charming market town hotel

CH, Northamptonshire, stayed: October 2023

Lovely olde world hotel set in centre of Abingdon which itself is a great and busy market town. Bedoom was a bit bijou but large bathroon made up for it. Food was excellent with a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Would certainly recommend and would be happy to return in the future.
