Relaxing getaway! A real treat.

LP, Surrey, stayed: March 2024

We had a wonderful time when we came for a one night stay at the hotel. All the communal areas such as the entrance hall, restaurant and bar had a really grand feel and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Spa was lovely and a really relaxing atmosphere.
Enormous comfortable bed! II would say that we were a little disappointed by the room, as the website s room tours were a lot more luxurious than ours. Things like peeling paint and difficult to use facilities, made it all feel a bit tired and in need of a face lift.
Overall we had a lovely stay! Wish we could have stayed a bit longer! X

A grand building with impressive views. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was a good size with ample wardrobe space but the bathroom was too small. Breakfast was generous and tasty. Dinner was gourmet standard. Spa was well-appointed and neat. The main steam room was out of service but staff could have done more to inform guests of the presence of a second smaller steam room. The massage treatment we had could be better. Not as firm as I like it.

Generally, it was a relaxing weekend break and staff were accommodating with requests and changes. I ll visit again.

If coming by train to Maidenhead, take Uber instead of taxi. It is almost half the price of a taxi.

Evening Meal could have been better.

James, stayed: April 2024

Danesfield House Hotel
Hotel - 4/5
Breakfast 4/5
Evening Meal 1/5

Venturing into Danesfield House Hotel, one is momentarily seduced by the promise of luxury: 318 for a package that bundles the effervescence of champagne with the comfort of a plush room, the prospect of a gastronomic evening feast, and the closure of a breakfast. The hotel itself, a bastion of spa-induced serenity, delivers on the architectural and service front, wrapping guests in a cocoon of pampering that's as comforting as a warm embrace in winter. The room, an opulent haven, serves as a silent testament to the craftsmanship dedicated to luxury.

However, as the evening unfurls its culinary offerings, one quickly discovers that not all that glitters is gastronomic gold. The champagne, perhaps a liquid harbinger of the meal to follow, fizzles out with the grace of a deflated souffl , leaving behind a taste that makes one ponder the mysteries of dissatisfaction. Breakfast, in stark contrast, redeems the morning after, hinting at what could have been if the evening's meal had been approached with the same gusto and flair.

The evening meal, an affair that should have pirouetted on the palate and waltzed through the taste buds, instead embarked on a lackluster limbo of tastelessness. Plating, that visual prelude to the symphony of flavors one anticipates with bated breath, serves merely as a fa ade, a trompe l'oeil tricking the eye but not the tongue. The bread, surprisingly, ascends as the culinary zenith of the meal, a statement that speaks volumes of the valleys and troughs of the dining experience.

Pudding, that sweet epilogue to any meal, arrives with the fanfare of anonymity, its origins shrouded in mystery, its taste an enigma. How, one might ask, can chocolate an ingredient that by its very essence is a riot of richness and decadence morph into a culinary ghost, haunting the plate with its presence yet leaving no trace upon the senses?

In sum, Danesfield House Hotel stands as a paragon of accommodation and service, a jewel in the crown of hospitality. Yet, when it comes to its culinary endeavors, particularly the evening's feast, it stumbles.
