About this property

Nestled between picturesque gardens and mature trees, this stone front property creates a dreamy countryside getaway. With a nearby beach and easy access to larger seaside resorts, Greystones Cottage is perfect for a family or group of adults. Park off-road and follow a garden path, which will leave you eager to find out what awaits inside this property. A traditional sitting room awaits, full of character and a hint of heritage, where you can recline and plan the day ahead of you with a coffee before heading into the kitchen to create a masterpiece made from local produce in an amply fitted space with tasteful wooden décor and tiled flooring. Choose between eating at the breakfast table in the kitchen or the separate dining room for a more formal dinner with the whole family, whilst the handy utility takes care of all of your sandy clothes. On the first floor you will be delighted to find the first of the three bedrooms, a twin bedroom with homely décor, storage, and a bathroom where you can relax after a long day of walking in the countryside. On the first floor two more bedrooms can be found, a king-size and a twin room, both with homely décor that will create a relaxing atmosphere for you to settle down in, as well as a handy bathroom, and the delightful edition of a snug, a space offering a quieter space to settle down with a book and a coffee beneath the historic wooden roofbeams. When it comes to al fresco dining, this property has it all, with a patio boasting gorgeous views across the cottage gardens, accented by splashes of colours from shrubs and trees which provide a home for wildlife, creating a fantastic spot to have breakfast in the sunshine. Chideock is a small town situated in Dorset where you will be able to dine in the local pubs and stock up on essentials at nearby convenience stores before taking to the variety of countryside walks available. When visiting Dorset, a day out to the beach is a must, the closest being Seatown Beach where you can enjoy a stroll amongst the salty air or even head a little further to the well-known Charmouth Beach and search for fossils. Indulge in the history of the local area with a day out to Bridport Museum or one of the local historical sites, including Marshwood Manor. Make a family holiday to remember with a stay at Greystones Cottage.

The pretty village of Chideock (pronounced Chiddick) can be found straddling the main A35 road between Bridport and Honiton, in glorious West Dorset. Many of the quaint cottages lining the road are constructed of cob and the honey-coloured local sandstone. Lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the area has plenty of lovely walks, whilst just 1 mile away is Dorset's Jurassic Coast, famed for its fossils and ease of finding them, where a walk along the coastal path affords spectacular views across the sparkling waters of Lyme Bay towards Portland, Chisel beach and the Devon coast. A short drive east takes you to the ancient rope-making town of Bridport, and the harbour at West Bay, or venture west to visit the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis. An excellent holiday base from which to explore this scenic area.
