Tucked away in the Berwyn Mountains, this charming Welsh village is reached via a long and winding road up the beautiful valley, offering a calm and soothing retreat amidst a countryside of rolling borderlands. This restored an old pumphouse has been transformed into a breathtaking Sauna and outdoor Hot Tub overlooking the beautiful views of the Ceiriog Valley.

The hotel owners have published a book with 17 walks in the area. Plus, the three resident dogs are on hand to show your dog around.
There are three dog-friendly bedrooms, two of which have direct access from the outside. The rooms are decorated to a high standard with sparkling modern bathrooms, and fitted with all the modern conveniences you need. Located in the stables and barns, the dog-friendly Country Rooms overlook the field and hillside beyond. South-facing, these delightful rooms catch the sun all day.

You can eat in all the bar areas with your four-legged friend or leave Fido in the room if you want to eat in the Dining Room. The Hand has an award-winning restaurant renowned for its exceptional food. Head Chef Grant Mulholland has built a strong reputation for creating fresh dishes with informal flair and generosity. The menu changes constantly but you will always find certain classic pub favourites such as slow braised shoulder of Welsh lamb or proper gammon with egg and hand cut chips on offer.
