Lovely from start to finish

Samantha, Bristol, stayed: October 2015

Booked an overnight stay here for a pampering treat for a girl friend and I. It was SUCH a treat. Gorgeous room with more space than we would have hoped for and every detail thought of. The spa was lovely and the massage restorative. The intimate dining room a quality service from the staff just added to the delicious meal that we didn't want to end. All this and the setting was just beautiful, the Autumn colours only added to the beauty!  Will definitely book again

Relaxing spa break

AT, Clwyd, stayed: April 2016

Beautiful setting, hotel very welcoming and the bottle of champagne in room was a nice touch, the only downside was the open fire as there was a permanent smell of burning wood which made your eyes water. Would be a lovely place to stay in the summer.

Excellent mini break

GD, Gloucestershire, stayed: April 2016

Everything they do, they do well; rooms (all suites), front of house, restaurant, drawing rooms, spa - staff are friendly and attentive without being fussy and nothing was too much trouble.
The set price 4 course dinner was superb - a thoughtful set of choices, beautifully presented and flavours were just great. Special mention to the dessert chef - they were just wonderful. The pre-dinner (freshy made) nibbles and amuse bouche were welcome touches.
We made the dreadful mistake of going out for the night to try a local hotel / restaurant; don't know what we were thinking; when you have fillet steak at home why go out for a burger? The meal out was so bad we left and returned to the Lake Country Hotel where the staff couldn't have tried harder to salvage what looked like was going to be a miserable night to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. It was also late but they rallied round, prepared some food for us and we enjoyed that in our room. Thank you!
Wonderful grounds, plenty of walks, suggestions on what to do in the day, lakes, the river and of course, the luxury of the Spa - which also managed to be excellent.
I won't give away the price per night - which included a plentiful breakfast (all served, no half hot buffet bar with rubber eggs here) and also the four course dinner but I can assure you it represented great value for money.
We would definitely return.
