Tranquil & relaxing hotel with superb spa
If you are looking for a peaceful, luxurious, haven away from the usual hectic pace of life, then Lake Country House is perfect. We went there for a wedding anniversary get-away.
The main house is very traditional and olde world, which we found charming. The reception, main restaurant, lounge and breakfast room are all here.
In contrast, the spa is very modern and has a great hot tub out on a balcony overlooking the lake. It was so relaxing sitting letting the bubbles massage away the tension, whilst watching red kites soaring on the thermals and a family of swans gliding around the lake.
The restaurant was superb and the food was excellent, but I would say it was a bit quiet in there. If you prefer something a little less formal you could order something from the bar menu to enjoy in the lounge.
Our room was a spacious suite, which was clean and luxurious.
I'd recommend Lake Country House to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, romantic break in the heart of South Wales.
Beautiful hotel, idyllic location.
So picturesque, quiet and luxurious but try and stay in the main hotel.
A Welcome in Wales
Very welcoming staff and a delightful location. Good for walking on or away from the grounds. We shall stay again when the rhododendrons are in bloom! Excellent menu, lovely swimming pool, very comfortable bed! Fairly expensive.
