Leeming House

Stunning location

From the moment we drove up the drive to Leeming House Hotel, se were struck by the beauty of your surroundings. The interior did not disappoint either. Our room had its own balcony overlooking the stunning gardens and fells. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were approachable and attentive. The food was excellent.
Your package made it a very fair price, to stay in such a beautiful location.

DISAPPOINTING

Leeming House Hotel has fantastic views and the staff are very friendly albeit very short staffed. The hotel was very disappointing although very clean it desperately needs decorating and updating. The gardens are all overgrown and neglected for what looks like years. The grounds are also very dangerous with broken steps and loose stone work. This hotel should be a 5 star however, it needs a total refurbishment inside and out. In my opinion you would be hard pressed to give it 3 stars. The food was OK at best, very expensive and limited in choice. Supplements galore eg I was charged 4.50 for 4 small new potatoes that's 1.12 each. Price for a small starter 16, Main for an 8oz sirloin 45 and a Brake Brothers desert 16 plus 10% service charge. Overall folks overated and over priced

Ideal for a relaxing weekend

Staff, I have to start here, the staff all of them were lovely and could not do enough for us, and when you are only there for a night or two it is nice to have that feeling of great service. This hotel was perfect if you intend to just relax, a drink on the terrace looking over the lake, with a small walk around the lovely gardens. The restaurant provided another lovely view of the lake district (just get there early to get a table next to the windows, for the full experience). We parked at the hotel and got the bus to Pooley Bridge (10 minutes) which was lovely for a wander and nice lunch. One thing though I will say is, we went on a dinner B&B and this was good value, I thought the a la carte, was a little expensive.
