About this property

Oxen Cottage is located on Nables Farm, home to Organic Chickens & Cows, on the edge of Upper Seagry, only six miles from the ancient town of Malmesbury. The farm is situated at the bottom of a long winding driveway tucked away in a small valley that removes you from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Peace and quiet awaits you in abundance. This superb barn conversion is perfect for family and friends alike. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and seamlessly incorporates a stylish contemporary design with original features such as vaulted ceilings and exposed oak beams throughout. This two bedroom single-story cottage is positioned at the heart of the owner’s organic farm adjacent to the farm yard that captivates the quintessential image of rural farming life. The lounge and kitchen/diner is open plan and is the real hub of the home. The space is ideal for enjoying family time and a perfect entertaining space for friends reuniting. The main living space is flooded with natural daylight with floor to ceiling windows running the length of the room along with large French doors opening right out onto the farmyard. The kitchen area has a beautiful Rangemaster oven with induction hob and an integrated dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The kitchen also has a wine fridge to ensure that any celebrations are well catered for. The kitchen wraps itself around the painted pine table that can accommodate four before leading on to the sitting area with a large 3 seater sofa and matching arm chair. Beautiful fabrics, cushions and rugs add to the sense of relaxation and comfort. Situated off the main hallway that again is drenched in natural daylight are the two bedrooms and bathroom. The main bedroom is luxuriously spacious featuring a beautiful wingback king-sized bed and painted solid oak wardrobe. The bedroom benefits from a small but perfectly formed en-suite shower room in keeping with the décor of the main room. The second smaller bedroom features a zip/link bed that can be set as either two single beds or zipped together to create a second king size bed for the cottage. There is also a painted wardrobe and feature radiator. Both bedrooms enjoy vaulted ceilings and exposed solid oak beams. Beds are presented with crisp white Egyptian cotton linen and towels, beautiful throws and scatter cushions to create that ‘home from home’ experience. The main bathroom is a joy to spend time in. The spacious room has a large feature double ended bath with overhead shower ideal to relax in following a busy day exploring the sights and sounds of the local area. Within reach are Malmesbury, Lacock (setting for the BBC series Cranford) and the Cotswold Water Park, along with many other attractions and places to visit.
