About this property

Only a bone’s throw away from Lake Windermere and the centre of Ambleside, dog-friendly Rothay Manor in the Lake District makes a wonderful base for a holiday in the national park. Originally built in 1823, you’ll enjoy a stylish step back in time as the manor hotel still retains much of its Regency style. Set within two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, if you and your pet are looking to relax this is the pet-friendly destination for you. Guests of Rothay Manor have full access to the Ambleside Salutation Health Club and Spa – only a 10-minute walk from the hotel – at no extra charge. Chic and modern, the spa has state of the art facilities as well as a sauna, steam room, indoor pool, tropical shower, crushed ice fountain, poolside Jacuzzi and deluxe Canadian hot tub situated in the serenity garden.

Dine with Your Dog

Rothay Manor’s 2AA Rosette restaurant serves nothing but freshly prepared and locally sourced dishes. You’ll enjoy flavours of Cumbria and places farther afield with the hotel’s diverse menu. Furry friends can dine with you in the drawing room where you can enjoy the bar menu with delicious dishes including 28-day aged 8oz Rib-eye steak and Arnold Bennett. If your pooch would prefer to relax, however, they can stay in your room.

Bow wow factor

There is an abundance of Lakeland walks and fabulous swimming spots right from the doorstep. Perfect for active pets!!
