About this property

The Saw Mill at Glen Dye is a unique, secluded sanctuary where you and your dog can re-connect with nature. With room for two, plus your furry friends, Saw Mill makes for a magical night in the Scottish wilderness. The cabin itself is a cosy 1957 Airstream Safari caravan. With access to the newly renovated Foresters Seed Store & Kitchen for everything that you and your canine companion need. You will also find a hot shower and flushing loo in the glamourous Wash House. With your own private Swedish wood-fired hot tub you can relax in your outdoor area, where you will find an additional outdoor shower that is run using water power that originally supplied the old mill.

Dine with Your Dog

Doggie Diners can enjoy their usual eating routine with use of your own fully fitted kitchen. With use of your own private barbeque, don't forget to save a sausage for Fido!

Bow wow factor

Saw Mill has a wonderful location for humans and doggie guests, a different walk or swim awaits exploration daily!

Bedrooms & Suites

You will sleep in a super-king bed in a fully refurbished 1955 Airstream Safari caravan nestling in a small pine wood beside the sawmill’s fast-flowing lade. There is an additional king size pull out sofa bed in the Seedstore. A few metres away sits your kitchen, dining room and sitting room in a wonderful wooden building originally created in the late 1800s as a kitchen, refuge and seed store for the estate foresters and now completely updated inside.

Dog-Friendly Nearby

Glen Dye Cabins and Cottages are remote but easily accessible; that’s a big part of their beauty. Aberdeen is 40 minutes away, Edinburgh with easy train connections is 1 hr 40 minutes. Nearby Dunnottar Castle is an incredible medieval castle ruin about 2 miles south of Stonehaven. There is a steep path to negotiate and you’ll need to pay to enter, but it’s worth it. A short, 30-minute drive will take you to the small and picturesque fishing harbor of Stonehaven. The perfect place for a walk, fresh fish and chips and a cosy pint in a pub. For those visiting to ring in the New Year, an ancient fireball ceremony takes place every Hogmanay.
