Overview

Shieldaig Lodge, is a fantastic dog-friendly Victorian retreat - a traditional HIghland. shooting lodge - within a 26000 acre estate in the West Highland mountains on the shores of Loch Gairloch. Conveniently located on the NC500 route you won't want to miss this magical place. It has a fabulous location right on the waterside and the hotel itself is full or character and charm with roaring fires, a delightful library, snug lounges with comfy sofas and a bar where you can sample a dram or two. You and your four legged friend will love it here - you can wander through the beautiful gardens, explore the fabulous beaches, mountainous scenery and stunning lochs and climb the munros or go on a nature walk all with your best furry friend in tow.

The bedrooms have been beautifully restored and feature antique furniture, tartan textiles and grand chandeliers. The restaurant has wonderful views of the loch and serves delicious locally reared or caught a stones throw from the hotel.  As well as the wonderful trails around the hotel other activities include pony trekking, sea kayaking, falconry and fishing - the possibilities are endless!

Dine with Your Dog

You can dine with your dog in the Liberator bar - home to 250 award-winning whiskies with at least one from every distillery in Scotland. Or if you have had a busy day of dog walks you can leave your dog in the room and in the Loch-View restaurant offering panoramic loch views and a fine dining menu. It offers the best locally sourced produce from rare breed lamb and Highland cattle to lobster, oysters and scallops. Vegetables are supplied from the kitchen garden and everything is overseen by Chef Jerome to deliver the finest Highland cuisine. Afternoon tea with a Scottish twist is especially recommended and can served in the restaurant, lounge or Liberator bar.
