About this property

“We treat pets like our guests,” says the dog-friendly South Lodge in West Sussex, a five-star luxury country house in Horsham just one hour from central London, and bordering the beautiful South Downs National Park. You can expect stunning, individually designed rooms,  with gorgeous soft furnishings and quirky furniture against a backdrop of spectacular views. With flawless attention to detail, including a pillow menu, ensuring that every guest can enjoy the most restful of stays, the lodge oozes homely charm in bucket loads. Set amongst 93 acres of stunning woodland, and boasting a state of the art spa complete with indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a thermal suite, it's the perfect luxury getaway for you and your pet if you are both looking for a little pampering and wonderful walks.

Dine with Your Dog

You can choose to dine with your dog in the Great Hall or leave your pooch in the bedroom while you dine in one of three award-winning restaurants – The Pass, The Camellia and Botanica. The Pass restaurant has been awarded 3AA rosettes and you’ll be seated in the kitchen watching the drama and creations of Head Chef, Tom Kemble and his team unfold before you. The Camellia has its own unique style in creating balanced, contemporary interpretations of traditional seasonal dishes. Jonathan Spiers, the head chef in Botanica meanwhile, draws on the South Downs as a larder for fresh and seasonal ingredients. Although not totally vegetarian, the menu features a plethora of plant-based plates including their standout dish, the undeniably delicious Wasted Burger.

Bow wow factor

Has to be the five-star welcome for pets, plus the 93 acres of woodland and parkland to explore and dining in the Great Hall!

Dog-Friendly Nearby

Explore the woodland which dominate the grounds. Outside of South Lodge, the South Downs is a dog-friendly paradise – we recommend the Devils Dyke for a fabulous walk nearby, or explore the footpaths across the road from the hotel and stop off at the dog-friendly Crabtree Inn for a well-earned drink afterwards.
