Please note - much of the charm of The Spread Eagle is due to the age of the building but this does mean that access to some bedrooms is via uneven and steep staircases or via irregular steps and narrow corridors, so is not accessible for wheelchair users.

"We absolutely love dogs," says the hotel. The hotel has a menu of local dog walks including the perfect dawn stroll! On top of that, a dog bed, bowl, doggy meals and grooming are also available!
All the Spread Eagle's rooms are dog-friendly. Individually designed and decorated, many with antique furnishing and fascinating stories that reflect the history of the hotel. The White Room, which has a secret passage, was reputedly used by fleeing smugglers and the Queen's Suite features a wig closet that may be the last surviving example of its kind in a hotel in England. It has been claimed that the English Monarch, Elizabeth I, stayed in this room in 1591! Or choose a Deluxe Four Poster room, Superior Double, Traditional or Standard. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, as well as a hospitality tray, TV, direct-dial phone and Wi-Fi access; 24-hour room service is also available.
