Set in the stunning grounds of Melmerby Hall, the dog-friendly Stag Cottage - you can book the cottage in conjunction with Melmerby Hall for a family celebration or get together or on its own for a relaxing getaway. Separated from the cottage by a large, lockable oak door, you will have plenty of privacy in this gorgeous dog-friendly cottage. Sleeping six across three en-suite bedrooms, families and groups of friends are guaranteed a comfortable stay. Complete with exposed wooden beams, log-burning fire, and ornate furnishings, the charmingly-traditional decor is a real treat, and there are plenty of modern facilities as well, including a fully-equipped kitchen. Four-legged guests will feel right at home and will love the private garden, but the real highlight has to be the wonderful location. Nestled at the foot of the Pennines, with fabulous vistas all around and endless opportunities walks right on your doorstep. Scale Cross Fell with your canine companion in tow for majestic views or head to High Cup Nick for woodland walks and glorious views. Alongside the picture-perfect Pennines, the stunning Lake District is less than half an hour away, with glorious fells and lakes to explore.

Stag Cottage sleeps six across three spacious en-suite bedrooms. Each room features unique decor and furnishings, but all retain the cottage's rustic aesthetic. Although all three rooms guarantee a comfortable stay, the Master bedroom is a real treat, featuring a gorgeous, ornate oak bed. Open and spacious, dogs will have plenty of room to stretch their legs, and they'll love exploring the enclosed garden. Complemented by a large dining room, you'll have a handmade oak kitchen, as well as a sizable lounge area. With its open fire, deep leather sofas, and exposed wooden beams, the lounge is the perfect place to spend a peaceful evening. There are plenty of creature comforts to indulge in as well, including complimentary Wi-Fi, a flatscreen television, barbecue, and more. Separated from Melmerby Hall by a large, lockable door, large groups can book the two properties, or you can book Stag Cottage separately for a relaxing getaway.

Stag Cottage's great location provides easy access to some fantastic sights. Nestled at the foot of the Pennines, you can scale Cross Fell with your canine companion for unparalleled views, or head to High Cup Nick for a leisurely picnic. The stunning Lake District is less than 30 minutes as well, giving you plenty of options for scenic strolls. Hop over to the shores of Ullswater and follow the 'Ullswater Way', a peaceful walking route, or climb aboard a famous steamer and cruise across the lake. History buffs can revel in the grandeur of Lowther Castle and will love the bustling gardens. Lowther also features a huge castle-themed playground for children and big kids to enjoy, making it an ideal spot for family days out. After a day of adventure, return to Melmerby and enjoy a home-cooked meal in The Shepherds Inn, a delightful dog-friendly pub that's right around the corner.
