Not quite as good as it thinks it is ! Complete mix up at check in. We did no get the rooms we expected. The room only had one radiator working so no heat in the bathroom. We reported the problem but no action and no explanation. If you charge 5 star prices it should be 5 star service.
The Spa was excellent and both restaurants were good. Very pleasant location
Good job the weather was not too cold. Very expensive
Guests with limited mobility.
In spite of the fact that many old people with limited mobility visit the hotel there does not seem to be a way of matching the booking with the need to be on the ground floor or near to a lift . We were initially put in Harrogate but when I asked whether there was any other suitable rooms was shown up to Wensleydale which was luxurious beyond imagining and a delightful unexpected pleasure. If the booking form contained a section asking for details of mobility this may help to match guests with their needs for assistance
Although there are two restaurants it seems that we were booked into The Terrace for both nights without being offered a choice. Although the food was excellent in both .
The terrace gave the imptrssion of a classy but lively canteen attached to a gym whereas the Samuel restaurant was quietly luxurious and more like what we were expecting.
These minor comments. did not spoil a wonderful stay.
A brilliant place to Relax
My friend and I had a wonderful two night break, the hotel is lovely, the staff were very helpful.
The Terrace Restaurant was gorgeous, the food was amazing.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we've book to return again next year.
Unfortunately the lift was out of order, my friend is some what disabled, the staff helped us with the luggage, one of the staff took myself and my friend around the ground in a buggy.
I can recommend Swinton Park Hotel to anyone, it's in a lovely location, and also has a lovely spa to relax in.
