Taplow House Hotel & Spa

3 night stay

Very nice clean hotel with lovely rooms. Only about a 20 minute walk from Taplow railway station which is on the Elizabeth line and which runs frequently directly into central London.
Good food served in the restaurant in the evening. Only slight complaint was that breakfast service was rather slow, especially when one wanted to get going in the mornings.

Needs some work

For an up market hotel Taplow house has some work to do. The hotel was unstaffed and several times we had to go searching for someone to man the bar, attend the front desk etc. The staff were welcoming but far too few. The bedroom was passable with a small double but lacked lighting, there was no main light and only one of the 3 lamps worked.
The food was exceptional and I'd definitely go back for a meal but for the money they charge for a room I'd go elsewhere

A night away in tranquil surroundings

We stayed a night here as a birthday treat, it was just what the doctor ordered. The staff were all so welcoming and lovely. We had a delicious 3 course meal in the restaurant, the food was absolutely brilliant.
My only minuses were that I had to ring down to reception to claim the welcome drinks that were supposed to be in our room on arrival and that the steak had quite a hefty surcharge of 15 plus an extra 3 for the sauce! The surroundings are really beautiful and peaceful, there are some brilliant places for Sunday roast in Taplow and you can walk from the hotel along the river which is gorgeous. The room and restaurant for both dinner and breakfast were delicious, would highly recommend staying here. Please note that the spa only consists of a small outdoor heated pool with jets and sauna so if you re expecting to sit around the pool reading on loungers, just perhaps manage your expectations!
Other than that, a wonderful stay, would definitely go back!
