The Woburn

excellent stay

The staff at this hotel were exceptional - every single member of staff [and there were many] were helpful, cheerful and very keen to be of assistance. As we arrived, we were met by Victor, a member of the bar staff, who rushed to take our luggage and wait whilst we registered, carrying our cases to our room without us asking. How often does that happen these days?! Our superior room was large with a large bathroom and although a little dated and plain, was comfortable and clean. The outside area was lovely with a waiter/waitress available to take drink or food orders. Restaurant was very nicely decorated and the food good. We had a most enjoyable stay, made the more so by the superb, enthusiastic staff. A very enjoyable 3 nights.

OK stay, staffing let them down

The hotel looked lovely from the outside but a little warn on the inside. Despite that, the staff ere all very friendly but we had a disastrous evening meal. We waited over an hour for a shared starter & main meal each. Both then came out at the same time so sent our starter back as it was no good eating too meals at the same time. Then we found the main meal completely cold. Not even slightly war. It was the 60 steak we were sharing but even so, it should have been hot food. We sent that back as well and eventually we ate about 9.30pm with a new order. There were two other people complaining about their meals ahead of me. The staff said they were extremely short staffed with only 4 people working that night so wondered if this contributed. The manager really was helpful but sort of ruined our evening waiting so long

Perfect for visit to Woburn Safari Park

Booked the Woburn as we were visiting the safari park which is very close by . Great location for Woburn Abbey and though it was closed the walk around the deer park was lovely. 5 mins from the door.
The room was large and very pleasant and a great deal. A point off as some of the lights didn t work. Dining was fine but a little canteen like and some pleasant spaces not available. Staff didn t see to get that we had a package and that could have been easier but overall a pleasant stay at a great price.
