Rooms were quite shabby, given the price. The restaurant looked lovely but there was a poor choice of food. We went to the Running Horse pub the next night and it ran rings round the hotel restaurant.
Breakfast on both mornings was cooked well, but lukewarm,so not as good as it should have been.
Very disappointing
The hotel's lovely, but we booked it for the Dinner bed & breakfast option and it was so bad.
The service was ridiculous and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. We sat down at 7.30 and got our mains delivered at 9pm. My wife's was cold & congealed and my fish & chips was very underwhelming.
We got a partial refund, but it doesn't make up for the fact that it marred the whole weekend.
We won't be coming back and think it's MASSIVELY overpriced for what you get. It's only one night DB & B and the 28/head barely covers anything o the menu.
Beautiful location
The hotel was lovely and although luxurious was not pretentious. The staff were all very friendly.
We booked on a package break to include dinner. The restaurant was more expensive than we are used to and the package included an allowance towards dinner rather than the whole dinner.
You could eat within budget but the choices were limited.
That being said, I went over budget and had a fish dish, which was probably the best fish dish I have ever had.
The bar does offer a 2 for 1 on drinks at set times, in the late afternoon!
