Heidi dines at dog-friendly restaurant Nutbourne
Heidi lunches at Nutbourne and wonders could this be the most pet-friendly restaurant in London?
Norfolk Terrier Heidi likes to try out new restaurants, pubs and bars to discover fabulous places where pets are as welcome as their owners!

We had heard lots of good tails about the new Gladwin brothers offering Nutbourne in Battersea – they already have two very successful restaurants, The Shed in Notting Hill and Rabbit in Chelsea – and couldn’t wait to try it out for ourselves.
Location
Nutbourne is a new restaurant in Battersea in a lovely riverside setting on Ransome’s Dock (just over Albert Bridge) and better still just a few minutes’ walk away from Battersea Park making it an ideal meeting point with a furry friend in tow for brunch or lunch after a brisk walk round the park. On this occasion, we took a leisurely walk from Fulham walking down the Kings Road, down onto the embankment and then over Albert Bridge to the restaurant.
The Vibe
Laidback, fun, community feel brasserie-style open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and here’s something to really bark about – pets are welcome for dinner too!

The Pet Welcome
Brilliant. We were greeted by a few woofers in the outdoor eating area before being met by the lovely and friendly manager, Theo who showed us to our table. Heidi immediately got petted and fussed over by our lovely waiters Pedro and Alex and settled down happily after her walk from Fulham.

Who came
My owner Denise, Sabrina Tulloch and Heidi.

What we ate
Nutbourne serves British food mostly sourced from their farm in Sussex. Sabrina and Denise enjoyed a delicious glass of Nutbourne Nutty Wild sparkling wine from their vineyard.

We started with grouse on a hot salt rock with plum sauce which simply gorgeous, followed by pan roasted hake, romesco and leek hearts for Denise, and beetroot yoghurt marinated pork steak, fennel and marjoram salsa with a side of wild mushroom ragu and celeriac for Sabrina.

We also ordered a naughty plate of skinny fries with added truffle followed by lovage and whey ice cream.

What Heidi had
A big bowl of water on arrival and a sausage from the farm!

Heidi had a lovely time and even went to talk to a few other tables who welcomed her over. This is definitely a destination restaurant that Heidi and I will put firmly on our map and in fact we liked it so much we returned the next day with Heidi’s brother Rufus and Fox Terrier friend Alistair.
